One great reason to train at kung fu and many other martial arts is for the fitness benefit.
Before the creation of modern fitness equipment, such as barbells, squat racks, Nautilus machines, etc., old fashioned warriors were still able to become quite strong and fit.
A huge reason why I developed Practical Kung Fu was because I have people close to me who’ve lost much of their mobility due to aging and lack of the right kind of exercise.
Since many people do not want to train at a gym and may not have room for big pieces of equipment, I thought I’d provide some fitness options now and then.
In the video below I demonstrate two kung fu stances that are excellent for developing strength in the legs and hips and to help improve your balance.
