The inside crescent kick is a versatile kung fu kick that can be used to attack the legs, ribs and even the head.

While it is not the most powerful kick in our arsenal, it can be used to cause significant damage when trained regularly.

With that said, it is probably best employed to attack the outside of the knee on the opponent’s lead leg.

This is the same concept presented in the discussion of the Roundhouse Kick.

A quick and powerful shot to the outside of the knee could disable your opponent immediately and effectively end the fight.

The inside crescent kick also has good potential to break a few ribs.

However, the higher you thrown the kick, the more difficult it is to keep from telegraphing, and the more vulnerable you will become.

Train it high into the heavy bag to develop power to kick low.

In the video below, I describe in detail how to throw the inside crescent kick.  Don’t forget to pick up an Everlast Heavy Bag for your training!
