One of the primary tools you will find in combatives training is the Front Knee Thrust.

It is most effective for use in close-in fighting circumstances.

The idea is to deploy the knee to the groin in order to get your opponent to double over.

This then allows you to take them down to the ground or end the fight with other striking techniques to the head while they are in a vulnerable position.

I like training this technique on a heavy bag as I demonstrate in the video below.
